From Piglets Birth Weight to Breeding Pigs Management System

In large-scale livestock breeding industry, it is well known the breeding index mainly refers to reproductive traits and growth traits. Take breeding pigs as an example, the reproductive traits generally include lactation, piglet birth weight and birth litter weight, litter size, piglet weaning weight and weaning litter weight, number of weaned piglets, etc. Low birth weight (< 800g), uneven birth weight and uneven litter size are the main determinants of pre-weaning loss of the litter. For every 100g increase in birth weight, pre-weaning mortality decreased by 0.4%. Among the growth traits, growth rate, feed intake and feed conversion rate are particularly important. The average daily feed intake of pigs is called feed intake capacity (FIC) or voluntary feed intake (VFI) under the condition of unlimited feed quantity, which is a trait that has attracted much attention in breeding work in recent years. Young sows should be fed with high quality diet at least 10 days before mating, which can maximize ovulation rate and litter size. However, if too much (more than 2.5 kg/d) was fed to young sows within 2 to 3 days after mating, the survival rate of embryos would be reduced. A dynamic full process control is vital to the breeding management.

And it's quite easy to active the animal weighing mode of ID226:

1. Firstly, set the Animal weighing Mode into Enable as below(see the page 11 of manual):

>Animal Weighing Mode--Enable

2. Set the Animal Sample Time--

>Animal Sample Time---As the animal is always moving, weighing is unstable, keep sampling for some time to make sure weighing correct or very close to animal weight.

3. Set Display Hold Time:

>Display Hold Time---After animal weighing is complete, keep weighing data display on the indicator for some time.

4. Set the Auto Print Threshold

>Auto Print Threshold:

0 or <1d---Disable auto print;

        >1d—Enable Auto print, if display weight is more than auto print threshold from empty, scale will trigger auto print automatically.

For example, if the d=1kg, then set >1kg, such as 10kg, then the indicator would test,if the current scale displays more than 1kg, it will active auto weighing print.
